Empower

One Girl At A TIme

Empower a girl to stay in school in rural southwest Uganda! So far, we’ve helped over 4000 girls by providing a pack of 4 pads, knickers, and a wet bag. We aim to continue this vital work, but we need your help!

Why Empower?

Menstrual Hygiene Challenge

In rural southwest Uganda, many girls drop out of school when they start menstruating because they can't afford sanitary pads. Improvised alternatives like leaves or ash are unreliable and unsanitary, leading to health issues and further absenteeism.

Why Empower?

Broader Impacts

Girls who drop out of school are more vulnerable to early marriage and pregnancy. Without an education, they lack the means to support themselves, which contributes to a cycle of poverty and child malnutrition.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower girls in rural southwest Uganda to stay in school and succeed, especially during their periods. We provide essential sanitary products and undergarments to ensure they can attend school with confidence and dignity. We also teach women and girls to make thier own washable pads. We believe in showing Christ's love to those in need.

These items help a girl manage her menstrual cycle safely and hygienically for up to 3 years. We've also taugh thousands of women and girls to make thier own pads and how to teach others to make them.
